Update
12/30/03: New words! Chloe says Bye-bye. She also says Thank
You when you give her something she wants. She also does the signs
for milk, more and all done.
Update
12/06/03: Chloe has some new tricks! She spins around in
a circle until she gets dizzy and falls down. She loves to lay on
her belly and push herself backwards with her arms.
Update
12/06/03: Chloe is learning so many new things! She loves
to imitate. She brushes her hair, hums along with songs, and even
does some yoga. She can kiss, hug and blow kisses. She can also
blow her nose better than Devin does now!
Update
11/20/03: Chloe has two teeth poking through on the top.
The one on the right showed up first.
I'm
going to say today is the official day Chloe started walking. She
was walking a lot today without holding on and then took like 10
steps in a row tonight. Her balance is amazing! Babies that I've
seen who have just started walking look so wobbly and awkward compared
to her. She can also stoop to pick something up and stand back up
without holding on. Also today, she started doing the bear crawl...
walking on all fours.
Update
10/23/03: Chloe does the funniest thing now although I don't
remember exactly when she started doing it. She does so many new
things I often forget to write them down.
I
like to play "I'm gonna get the baby" with Chloe on the
bed. I say it and then lunge toward her. Well, she gets so excited!
She turns around and crawls away, sits up and then throws herself
backward, landing on her back on the bed. We have to watch her carefully
because she gets so excited and almost fell right off the bed a
few times!
Update
10/16/03: Chloe plays peek-a-boo! She pulls something up
to her face and waits for you to say peek-a-boo. She also pulls
something down from our face if we are playing peek-a-boo with her.
Update
10/13/03: Chloe took her first steps!! She took two steps
and then sat down. She also waves bye-bye! And she starts bouncing
as soon as she hears music!
Update
10/9/03: We took a baby sign language class today and I
started signing with Chloe. She can learn to communicate with us
even before she talks! She already knows the sign for milk.
Update
10/6/03: The bottom left tooth broke through! Yay!
Update
10/3/03: Chloe will stand unsupported for a little while
now if you put her down. Her first step isn't far away! She'll give
you a kiss if you ask for one too :)
Update
9/30/03: Chloe stood all by herself for over a minute! She
can also take a few steps while you hold one of her hands. If you
hold both hands, she takes off running!
Update
9/29/03: We joined a playgroup today. Chloe just sat quietly
for a while and then crawled around and played a little. There were
2 other babies the same age. One little girl fell and cried and
Chloe started crying too. She seemed very upset that the baby was
hurt... it was so cute.
Update
9/25/03: New sounds... Chloe says "ow" and "wow"
now and I swear she said "hello" yestersday! She's standing
for longer periods on my bed now too. She stood for 10 seconds the
other day.
Update
9/19/03: It's official! Chloe's bottom right tooth has finally
poked through and the bottom left isn't far behind!
Update
9/17/03: Chloe found her tongue last week and sticks it
out and plays with it constantly. She even learned how to do raspberries.

Update
9/06/03: Chloe clapped her hands today!
Update
8/31/03: Chloe finally sat up on her own from her tummy.
Before she would have to pull up on something and then sit.
Update
8/29/03: Chloe is starting to stand on her own now. She
will let go and stand for a few seconds before falling on her butt!
She's getting into everything and we have to watch her every second.
She has started to crawl on her hands and knees instead of always
doing the army crawl. She gets upset when you take something away
from her or move her away from something she wants.
Update
8/11/03: Chloe is making a new sound now, Nana... that just
happens to be what they call my Mother-in-law. Her vocabulary now
consists of dada, blahblah, mama and nana. She also has screaming
contests with me. If I go Ahhh!, sometimes she'll do it back. She
also makes another sound sometimes. It's a clicking noise that sounds
kind of like the baby raptors from Jurassic Park 3.
Update
8/08/03: Chloe's balance is getting much better now. She
can get to a sitting position from standing. She started letting
go and trying to stand on her own today. I let her do this on our
bed because she won't hurt herself when she falls. It just amazes
me that she started rolling over only a month ago!
Update
8/04/03: Chloe makes the sound "blah" all the
time... it's her favorite. She's said mama a few times but only
when she's upset. She started eating finger foods like cheerios
and cooked carrot and she's doing really well with it. She's already
using a pincer grasp (thumb and forefinger) to pick up the food
and put it in her mouth. The pincer grasp is a 9-12 month milestone!
Update
7/26/03: Chloe uses other things to pull up. And she takes
steps now when you hold her hands! It's so cute... she lifts her
leg up so high, you'd think she was trying to climb a mountain!
Update 7/24/03: Chloe is pulling up on things now...
well, that is, she is using us to pull herself up. She climbs all
over us.
Update
7/21/03: Chloe is rolling all over the place
and
starting to crawl. She scoots toward things like an inchworm. It's
really cute. She puts her legs together, brings her knees to her
chest, butt in the air, and then stretches out straight. |
